Freedom for Farmed Rabbits is an Australian-based group.
FFR is involved in uncovering the disturbing conditions that exist behind shed doors.
We recognise there is an urgent need for protection of rabbits raised for food all over the world, particularly Australia. Here, the situation of rabbit farming is not well-known. While the industry is smaller compared to European countries, it is growing. Rabbits on farms are suffering relentlessly around this country, with no laws or policies to protect them.
Australians feel strongly about animal welfare and we believe that the majority of people would agree that keeping rabbits confined in battery cages in windowless sheds will no longer be tolerated.

What we do:
FFR campaigns to bring an end to the farming of rabbits.
FFR's focus is on exposing the cruel conditions in which these creatures are forced to live and showing the world the inside of farms and slaughter facilities.
FFR petitions the government and industries that allow this practice to continue.
FFR is appealing to supermarkets and customers to stop buying rabbit meat.
FFR is pressuring restaurants, companies and stores to stop exploiting rabbits for meat and fur.

What we call for:

We call for the Australian government to ban the farming of rabbits.
